It’s ridiculously open patents like this that will stifle innovation for anyone who can not afford to pay ridiculous sums to ridiculous people… All it seems to take is a slight similarity between implementations and whoever owns such a patent need only keep their target entangled in legal procedings until either their money runs out, or they are forced to settle out-of-court. Who in their right minds would think this system is a good idea? By all means patent specifics in physicality and design, but please do not patent “software patterns” or “genralistic inventions”… otherwise we might as well just patent the act of human thought and pay for it in all the genius that is wasted because no one can afford to dream.
